Addition Sofa

$6,435 USD

The KK48650 Addition Sofa by Kaare Klint offers upholstered luxury and crafted flexibility for any interior due to its modular design and clever construction. Inspired by a French rococo sofa, the design is a bold testament to simplification and purpose.

The KK48650 Addition Sofa by Kaare Klint is versatile and modern. The design is trimmed with piping to ensure beautiful, clean seams around the seat and back. The leather pleats create rhomboid panels that are held in place with leather-covered buttons and open up when pressure is applied to the sofa to keep the leather from overstretching.

The first version of the Addition Sofa was created in the early 1930s for the prestigious New Carlsberg Foundation offices in Copenhagen. Klint then continued to refine the design, presenting the final Addition Sofa at the 1933 Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition.

The sofa quickly earned accolades for its simple construction and sophisticated upholstery, including an award at the Copenhagen Saddlemakers’ and Upholsterers’ Guild’s 475th anniversary competition in 1935.

The KK48650 Addition Sofa is also available without a back as the KK48651 Addition Ottoman. The modular system allowing for new combinations.
