Topan VP6 Pendant

$405 USD

Even before the Pop Art Movement gained momentum, Verner Panton was leagues ahead of his contemporaries with visionary designs that continue to be compelling. The Topan Pendant Lamp, with its simple spherical silhouette, remains as captivating today as it was when initially introduced in 1959. To be launched in a series of contemporary colors that resonate with new generation of design aficionados.

The Topan lamp was originally designed for Norway's Astoria Hotel and Restaurant in Trondheim. Here Panton created a stunning, color saturated universe where the Topan lamp served as more than merely a source of illumination. The lamp became an integral part of the decorative elements that comprised Panton's immersive approach to designing entire interiors.

For Panton, choosing colors should be "a conscious decision. colors have a meaning and a function." As a tribute to this master who knew the deeper meaning of color and its emotional impact, &tradition is propelling the Topan into the future with a series of modern colors.

"Panton was passionate about color and even went so far as to say that color was more important than form," explains &tradition Brand Manager Martin Kornbek Hansen."The Topan Pendant Lamp was Panton's first mass- produced lamp and the predecessor to his subsequent series of FlowerPot lamps. So we are proud to keep Panton's iconic designs alive with new hues that appeal to a global audience. In fresh tones that also match the rest of our collection."

Look for glossy versions of white, black blue, deep red, grey beige and dark green, which are all the more alluring in Topan's lacquered aluminum. Wherever you place the Topan Pendant, the global shape will emit a go geous glow adding a cosy factor to any environment. Choosing from an array of new hues to create a singular lighting solution or a decorative statement in clusters.
